Our Mission

About Us

Nuestra Misión

English Connection is a not-for-profit, community-based English as a Second Language tutoring program for adult immigrants and their children in Grant County, Indiana. Since 2013, English Connection has partnered with local nonprofits, universities, churches, and community volunteers to provide welcoming, one-on-one English instruction in a supportive environment. Our mission is simple: to teach and learn English, make friends, and grow. Through one-on-one tutoring, conversation, coffee breaks, and group activities, we hope to foster meaningful cross-cultural friendships and create a harmonious environment where everyone can learn and grow together.

  • Monday and/or Thursday nights at College Wesleyan Church in Marion, Indiana.
  • Adult learners are matched with volunteer tutors for personalized one-on-one English instruction.
  • Focus on practical language goals (everyday life, work, education, or building confidence in conversation).
  • Children ages 4 through 9 are welcome to attend with their parents.
  • While adults are in their tutoring session, children play and work on their English, reading, math, creative activities, and school homework.
